They are adamant about not getting divorced.

Perlman and DeVito divorced for the first time in October 2012, three decades after their wedding and four decades of marriage. Soon after, an unnamed RadarOnline source claimed to be a former crew member on one of his films and leveled infidelity claims against the seasoned actor. In the early 1990s, the actor allegedly dated a young blonde extra on the same set. Because the actor had made false promises of success to the young actress, they would regularly canoodle in the actor’s limousine. “It was sort of pitiful since she was extremely young and gorgeous and clearly simply having sex with him in hopes that he’d make her a celebrity,” said the source.

According to the site, Perlman was fed up with her husband’s adultery and flirty conduct and “gave him the boot” after a decade of tumultuous partnerships. “He may not look to be a ladies’ guy, but Danny definitely attracts a lot of female attention,” a family insider told the site. They further said that DeVito was not afraid to use his popularity to “chat up young, ambitious ladies wanting to make it in the profession.” According to the source, Perlman and her husband were fantastic parents to their three children and were once a “solid family.”

Soon after, the former couple’s publicist stood forward to clarify the matter. “Everything you’ve read is a lie. Nobody knows the true reason since they haven’t told anybody, “According to the New York Daily News, the spokesman said. “It’s incredibly sad,” the rep said, adding that there was no outside love interest involved in the couple’s terrible split.

However, even as late as 2019, the actress remained sure that her marriage would not end in divorce. “I’m not sure why it’s tough for some people, but Danny and I have always loved each other, and we have three lovely children together,” Perlman remarked on Watch What Happens Live with Andy.

She went on, “We’d been together for 40 years, you know. 40 years is a long time; maybe you should try something different!” Perlman said that her relationship with her husband of 30 years had improved significantly following their divorce because “all the tension stuff” had been removed. Perlman and DeVito started dating in 1971 and married in January 1982. The couple has three children: Lucy, Grace, and Jacob, all of whom are now adults.
