MC Skibadee died on February 27, at the age of 47. His relatives shared the news on his social media pages. In a statement, the electronic music recording artist’s family said:
“Hello everyone, as Alphonso’s firstborn, I regret to inform you that Skibadee has died away; as a family, we want solitude, but may he rest in peace.”
Until recently, the reason for his death has remained unknown. Lisa Maffia, a former So Solid Crew member, paid homage to MC Skibadee and stated she was astonished when she heard the news. Fresh, a drum’n’bass DJ and producer, said that Skibadee’s impact on drum’n’bass would never be surpassed and that he was the first fantastic individual he liked spending time with.

Alphonso Bondzie was born on February 1, 1975, as a well-known electronic music recording artist and drum and bass MC. In 1993, he started his career on City Sound Radio. He was later a fixture at events such as Thunder & Joy, Johnson &Johnsons, Spirit of the Jungle, Blackpool Tower Ballroom Dance, and his regular slot on City Sound Radio with DJs Pro-D and Cyrus on the Live & Direct program. By the end of 1995, Alphonso had been a regular on Kool FM, Electrybe, Innersense, Fever, Designer label Ball, T & J, and Malachite.
In 1997, he started the 2Xfreestyle project, which entailed layering a Drum and Bass tempo over a Hip-Hop rhythm to create a double-time impression. He then performed this style alongside the style’s creator, Stevie Hyper D. Skibadee won the first of three Knowledge Awards for best MC and three Accelerated Culture Awards. He cooperated with MC Shabba D, which led to a Drum and Bass collaboration with S.A.S., Skiba, and Shabba In 2000.
In 2006, MC Skibadee received the 1Xtra award for best MC, and in 2007, he received the Southwest Drum n Bass award for best MC. In 2008 and 2009, he was named best Lyrical MC and best Hype MC at the National Drum and Bass Awards. Bondzie received the Crowd Hyper MC of the Year award and the Stevie Hyper D Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. In 2010, he was named best MC at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards.

Since his debut in 1993, MC Skibadee has become a household name in the music business. When news of his death broke, fans took to Twitter to express their sorrow. His family survives Alphonso, and no additional information about his personal life has been released.
