The audience was outraged, but the football analyst said he had no clue they were praying. He did, however, apologize. Lineker is again on the offensive against Israeli Jews, labeling Israel’s assault on Gaza “textbook genocide.” He also compares Israel’s conduct to Nazi Germany’s acts. The Jewish community is angry, but Lineker insists he will not back down. Lineker’s actions have elicited both criticism and support from atheist fans. People who feel religion is a façade, in particular.
His Radical Political views
Lineker is well-known for his political views, which he often shares on Twitter. He was dubbed “the British Left’s Loudest Voice” by Vice News in December 2016. According to them, he was “both staunchly liberal and resolutely unafraid of making his views known.” “I make more runs to the left than the right,” Lineker said, “but I’ve never felt comfortable on the wing.” In March 2023, Lineker took to Twitter to condemn the British government’s refugee policies.
Lineker was fired from Match of the Day on March 10 because “his recent social media activity was a violation of our guidelines.” In a statement, BBC said that it has “decided Lineker will not present Match of the Day until there’s an agreed and clear position on his use of social media.”
