Ellie Zeiler, a TikTok user, is facing backlash after explaining the cause of America’s skyrocketing petrol costs in her recent video. This comes after the White House Administration schooled Gen-Z TikTokers about American inflation. Fans of the 18-year-old are now criticizing her for disseminating political material through the video-sharing site and “manipulating” her following. The White House hosted a briefing for 30 significant internet influencers who used their TikTok accounts to discuss their encounter. Ellie Zeiler, who has over 10 million followers on the network, was among them.
In the video, she discusses “why gas prices are so high,” adding that the United States inflation rate is at a four-decade high. TikToker offered the following reasons for the change:
“One of them is a two-year epidemic.” When demand rises, so does the price…”
She discussed Russia’s position in global gas supplies and how the continuing conflict has contributed to increasing costs. She stated:
“Russia is one of the top three producers of oil, and it is their primary source of money.” Nobody wants to cooperate with Putin or conduct international commerce now that he has started this awful conflict between Ukraine and Russia.”
