Zach Johnson was born in Iowa City to parents Dave Johnson and Julie Johnson. He was raised in Cedar Rapids. Johnsons is the oldest of three siblings. He was particularly interested in playing numerous sports as a youngster, including golf, basketball, baseball, soccer, and football. Zach had joined Elmcrest Country Club at the age of 10 to enhance his golfing talents. He graduated from high school in 1994 and attended “Drake University” in Des Moines.
