Chabelo was well-known for his ability as a comic.
Xavier was born on February 17, 1935, in the central Mexican city of Leon, and served on a military station in California. He then studied medicine in Mexico and worked as a doctor in a private facility while also working as a part-time aide at the Mexican network Televisa’s offices. He quickly started filling in for performers who were unable to attend performances and once told a jest on the radio about a kid called Chabelo. This resulted in the creation of a new figure, who also served as the face of Pepsi in the 1950s. Xavier has appeared in a number of advertisements over the years.
Xavier became well-known after appearing on the game program En Familia con Chabelo. It broadcast for about 45 years, including Xavier’s character, and the comedian earned a Guinness World Record for his 57-year performance in the character. Xavier appeared in several other features and produced programs such as La Escuelita VIP and Los Simuladores. According to Mexican writer Laura Martinez, almost no one was unfamiliar with Xavier’s writing. On Saturday afternoons, his videos aired, and he was shown battling various animals.
