Cancer took her life
The unexpected death of Xana stunned the country. In 2019, she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, the most frequent kind of bone cancer. She fought the sickness heroically for five months but did not survive. Her father, Enrique, broke the heartbreaking news of her death on August 29, 2019, publishing a statement that said, “Our daughter Xana died away that afternoon following a five-month battle with Osteosarcoma.”
He thanked all of his supporters as well as the physicians, nurses, and medical personnel for their efforts. He went on to say that Xana would be remembered every day with the hope of one-day meeting again and that she will be the star that leads their family. Xana was just nine years old when she tragically died.
Her sister’s reaction to her death
Xana was the youngest sibling of her two older siblings, Sira Martinez and Pacho Martinez. Sira Martinez, her younger sister, is a Spanish equestrian champion at the youth level. During an interview with Vanity Fair, she discussed how her sister’s death impacted her. She said that her experiences with her sister had changed her view on life. She went on to say that she used to get overwhelmed by the smallest difficulty, but she has grown to the point where she pauses to reflect and recognizes that we never know when we will die, so we should live our lives and enjoy every minute. She is currently attempting to deal with everything while looking for the positives.
Her father claims that he cannot fall in love with anybody other than her mother.
Her parents, economist Elena Cullell and Luis Enrique, have been married for almost two decades. They met a year before Luis joined Barcelona and dated for years before marrying on December 27, 1997, at Barcelona’s Santa Maria del Mar. The magnificent ceremony was performed in the presence of 200 guests at the Cathedral de la Ribera.
During an interview, Enrique said that he only falls in love with his wife. His wife, he claims, is the only one who supports him, and since they have been married for many years, he cannot fall in love with anybody else.
Enrique was named as one of the possible managers for Manchester United.
Before Erik ten Hag was appointed as Manchester United’s manager, Enrique was considered with Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, and Julen Lopetegui. While discussing the possibility of taking over Manchester United, Enrique said that he will be in Qatar with Spain because he has spoken and that nothing excites him more than representing his nation in the World Cup.
