Willam Belli, one of the most popular American drag queens, has always been open about his sexual preferences and relationship status. The openly gay Belli married Bruce Bealke in September 2008, but the drag queen revealed that they were no longer together in one of his 2019 YouTube videos.
Belli Confirmed His Divorce from His Husband
In September 2019, the famous drag queen posted a video titled “ASS-umptions w/ WILLAM” to his official YouTube channel. The video was created in response to his fans’ assumptions about his personal and professional lives.
One assumption read, “That you’re happily married,” to which Belli immediately responded that he had divorced his husband Bealke and was currently single. “I’m not any longer; I’m single and divorced.” However, he provided little clarification about the situation and quickly moved on to the next assumption. As a result, it is unclear whether the couple was simply separated or divorced.
Fans were shocked by the news, and they were heartbroken. “Wait, what?” one of them asked. Is he divorced from his husband? Oh my goodness… What happened? That’s so heartbreaking.” “I didn’t know he hasn’t married anymore,” one said.

Belli Had Been Married For A Decade
While the couple was divorced in late 2019, they had been married for just over ten years. After being romantically involved for over six years, Belli and Bealke exchanged wedding vows on September 9, 2008. Bealke is a software developer and an entertainment lawyer. He had always been known for his outgoing and extroverted personality, and few details about his life were kept private.
Similarly, the drag queen was frequently seen flaunting his ex-partner on social media in the past. He never shied away from showing his ex-wife love, whether it was teasing him or sharing a picture with their pet dog. In one instance, Belli took to Instagram to mock his husband’s lack of punctuality for dinner. “When your husband is 35 minutes late for dinner, so you hang out with the dog while he eats,” he wrote.

The two’s relationship gained media attention after the Sex in the City actor was disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race’s fourth season in 2009. It was the first time a contestant had been disqualified for violating the rules in the competition’s history.
During the show, Bealke would reportedly visit his husband in the hotel room where he was staying. It violated competition rules severely and was cited as the reason for Belli’s disqualification. However, the truth, according to him, was quite different.
In June 2018, the fiery drag queen revealed his disqualification on Twitter: a sexual relationship with a producer. He said producers pressured him to have his husband come on the broadcast to back up his lie.
