Season 11 of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (LHHATL) is presently showing every Tuesday as part of MTV Tuesdays. Two cast members got into a heated altercation in the most recent episode, which aired on August 29, 2023.
Erica Mena spoke on Tuesday’s episode of the show with Shekinah and Spice to discuss Spice’s relationship with her ex-husband, Safaree. While the conversation began on a positive note, it quickly deteriorated when Spice made comments regarding Erica’s children.
Erica Mena, who has previously been chastised for keeping her eldest son out of the spotlight, became enraged and flipped a table containing the two LHHATL cast members.
The production staff quickly intervened and separated the two. While there was no physical contact, Mena used a racial epithet towards the Jamaican singer, calling her a “blue m*nkey.” Soon after the episode aired, the franchise issued an online statement announcing Mena’s departure from the show.
Erica Mena was fired from LHHATL season 11 for using a racial slur at Spice.
Spice and Erica Mena met up to hash things out on the August 29, 2023 episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta (LHHATL) season 11, but things didn’t go exactly as planned, and the production crew had to intervene.
While Erica Mena congratulated Spice on her profession and praised her as a mother, the conversation took a turn when Spice revealed that her own son didn’t like her.
The remark enraged the LHHATL season 11 cast member, who flipped the table, prompting the crew to intervene. Physical aggression is nothing new to viewers of the program, who have witnessed cast members throw punches, drinks, and other objects. However, what happened next was unusual, as Erica Mena shouted a racial slur at the Jamaican musician in a fit of rage.
She referred to Spice as a “blue m*nkey,” which enraged fans and cast members alike. Shekinah, who was on the scene, told the cameras that it was completely incorrect. She also mentioned that Erica Mena has Black children, specifically Jamaican children, and questioned how she would have felt if the same statement was applied to her children.
