Veronica initially meets Devin’s father, basketball player Melvin Booker, at the Continental Basketball Association’s Grand Hoops. Melvin was a member of the Grand Rapids Mackers during the 1995-1996 season. After their initial encounter, the pair began dating and fell in love.
