Phil Kane, a country singer-songwriter, will be seen competing on American Idol episode 6, which will broadcast this Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The forthcoming show will follow Phil and the final group of candidates as they take part in the final round of tryouts before the competition’s Hollywood Week round. They will be seen giving it they’re all in the aspiration of winning a golden or silver pass.
Phil Kane, an American Idol competitor, is a country singer-songwriter from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. In 2019, he won Pawhuska’s Got Talent and has competed in several local contests. He will be seen singing his original composition Osage County for his tryout, which will please the judges.
The famous ABC series has been on the air for over two decades and has become a hugely successful property. In Season 21, known vocalists performed in front of the renowned judge triumvirate, which included pop diva Katy Perry, Oscar-winning singer/songwriter Lionel Richie, and country sensation Luke Bryan. The public has already chosen their champions and is pulling for them to triumph.

Luke Bryan, an American Idol juror, compares Phil Kane to “country Jackson Browne.”
Phil Kane presented himself as an 18-year-old vocalist and composition student at Belmont University prior to his performance on American Idol. When presenter Ryan Seacrest inquired about the contestant’s writing, he disclosed that he wrote tunes about rural roads and females.
He took the platform for the tryout and sang his original tune Osage County while also playing the keyboard. The judges traded grins as soon as he began performing, knowing they were watching a celebrity. The assessor’s gaze was fixed on the competitor throughout his act.
Even after completing his performance, the American Idol competitor continued to play the piano. Phil received standing applause from all three judges until he returned to the main platform. Luke Bryan then referred to him as a “country Jackson Browne,” and the other judges concurred with the new moniker.
Katy Perry praised the contestant’s sounds and keyboard abilities, saying:
“From the moment you started playing the piano…Your piano choices gave me chills.” Then there’s the tale of your music…Every single statement is true. It was so genuine, and I could really connect to it. I’m not even from your small community, but I’d like to pay you a call right now.”
The American Idol adjudicator praised the candidate for his sincerity and guaranteed him that his ability would propel him to the top of the competition. Phil ticked all the boxes, according to Lionel Richie, including composition, analogies, melodies, and narrative.
Phil then revealed that he composed the music when he was 16 years old, which shocked the judges even more. Lionel described the act as “dead on the money,” adding:
“We know who your persona is and what your voice sounds like. What you just did was amazing. We have a talented illustrator. Excellent work!”
Katy also offered the American Idol candidate some sound advice. She advised Phil not to compete with other performers, but rather to display his genuine real self, emphasizing who he already is. Last year’s victor, Noah Thompson, was described as the “simplest, most understated person in the competition” by Luke Bryan. He stated that victor was chosen because people trusted in him. The adjudicator hoped Phil would comprehend and be inspired by this.
The American Idol judges then approved, earning Phil a gilded pass to Hollywood Week. This year’s American Idol season 21 has seen a number of excellent talent. Given that this is the final round of tryouts, the candidates will give their all to the evaluators in the hopes of getting their passes. Viewers will have to wait and see what happens next. Don’t neglect to watch this week’s show on ABC on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
