Who Is Monty Alderman From “Bake It ‘Til You Make It”?

This Christmas season, Food Network will debut its fresh new reality TV culinary competition, Bake It ‘Til You Make It. The forthcoming series will premiere on Monday, December 26, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT, a day after Christmas. Bake It ‘Til You Make It centers on seven “passionate” bakers who compete for a chance to win. Donavon ‘Monty’ Alderman, a former football player and high school coach, is one of the seven bakers competing.

According to the official summary of the cuisine reality TV show:

“The Food Network abandons the studio to follow seven talented amateur bakers. They’re hitting the road to compete in baking contests around the country, all while chasing the finest flavor in the world: winning.”

Monty’s sporting career took a detour a few years ago when he chose to pursue a career in baking, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Monty from Bake It ‘Til You Make It switched from athletics to baking and became a culinary instructor.

Monty from Bake It ‘Til You Make It owns Monty’s Neighborhood Snacks, where he teaches culinary workshops. Monty’s professional Instagram feed states that his slogan is:

“Bringing sweets to the streets, one cupcake and smile at a time.”

Monty’s company has an Instagram account with the name @montsneighborhoodandsnacks. He has over 2400 followers and often posts photographs and videos of his baking adventures and work. Monty shares everything and is highly active on Instagram, from cakes to desserts and other baked goodies. He also gives a cooking class where he teaches his pupils a 4- to 12-course meal plan. According to one of his Instagram posts:

“The culinary unit will have 4-12 lessons with direct teaching. These programs will teach strategies that will help anybody develop and improve their kitchen abilities. The 8-week course will cover everything from quiche to pasta. All lessons are enjoyable and stimulating.”

Aside from that, he offers a hands-on cooking session in which students work in small groups to produce a meal with the teacher. Monty also has a local company Instagram handle called @hoodsnacksde, where he shares the same stuff.

According to his website, he characterizes his company as follows:

“Monty’s Neighborhood Snacks is a small family-owned baked goods company with a purpose to assist enhance the quality of life for everyone by supplying great snacks while imparting survival, life, education, and career skills via community service.”

His baking company has been featured on several culinary and travel websites around the nation. Travel Noir Magazine named it one of the top 50 bakeries in the United States.
