Atlanta Falcons’ New Defensive Coordinator
The Atlanta Falcons announced the hiring of Jimmy Lake, the Rams’ former assistant head coach, as defensive coordinator on Monday. Lake is joined by Zac Robinson, the new offensive coordinator, who formerly worked as the Rams’ quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. This signals a reunion with Raheem Morris, the Falcons’ freshly hired head coach who left the Rams last week.
Morris has worked as the Rams’ defensive coordinator since 2021. Before joining the Falcons, Lake was the head coach at the University of Washington. He previously worked as an assistant for six seasons, including two seasons as defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2019. In addition to these changes, the Falcons announced the retention of special teams coordinator Marquice Williams on Monday.
