A contestant on Survivor Season 44 Matthew’s personal annoyance is the presence of pineapple on pizza.

Matthew is originally from Pickerington, Ohio, but now lives in Columbus, Ohio. Matthew disclosed in an exclusive conversation with Parade that the three terms that best define him are “spontaneous, compassionate, and daring.” When asked about his personal peeves, he added:

“People who talk in loops, people who don’t allow others enough time to speak in a conversation, the color purple and white, misformed popsicles, unusual numbers, pineapple on pizza, malt chocolate sweets.”

In addition, when asked about his favorite pastimes, he stated:

“Adventures with my boy and spouse, rollercoasters and waterslides, consuming cuisine from around the globe, cultivating and gathering flora.”

He also disclosed that confidence is the most essential factor for him in a partnership partner. He stated that in order to play the game, one must be able to believe another. They must, however, have distinct skills from themselves. Matthew revealed that one thing he would never do in the game is using the curative ability of contact to influence others.

“I’m presently pursuing a degree in massage treatment. And one thing I told myself I would never do was use touch’s curative ability to influence people. That would be unethical in my opinion. I want people to be able to appreciate what I do and not see it as a power play in which I use it to force people.”

When asked what he was most pleased with, Matthew said it was his family. He also stated that he would not be where he is today if it weren’t for them. Matthew shared the greatest advice he got before entering the competition:

“My sister gave me the greatest advice before I went out to play. And she told me that no matter how difficult things are, I should recall that they are only transitory. If the rain is raining down on you and you’re frigid, chilly, and trembling, and you don’t see an end in sight, consider that it’s only fleeting.”
