Kapri Robinson

Drink Masters will pit 12 mixologists against each other in a one-of-a-kind tournament. The Netflix program has a $100,000 grand prize and the opportunity to become the first-ever Ultimate Drink Master. To do so, participants must impress the show’s judges, Frankie Solarik and Julie Reiner, with Tone Bell acting as the presenter.

Kapri Robinson, the presenter of the Soul Palate podcast, is one of the participants slated to participate in the mixology competition. Kapri is also the creator of Chocolate City’s Best, a non-profit organization. Its goal is to establish platforms that link Black and Brown persons in the food and beverage business with people who can help them advance professionally.

The show’s synopsis is as follows:

“Twelve of the world’s most creative mixologists infuse, swirl, and blend their way through a series of high-stakes cocktail challenges for the chance to win a life-changing reward and the title of The Ultimate Drink Master.”

The bartender regards herself as a builder and stated:

“Creating something of your own that organically dismantles what you view as wrong takes away the energy of continually yelling against a wall of white supremacy, racism, misogyny, ageism —- all of the -isms.”

The Drink Masters candidate hopes to affect change in the food business by bringing up previously unspoken subjects. She wants to start a conversation in order to break down the barriers that frequently stand in the way of people of color. Kapri presently works as a bartender at Allegory in Washington, DC. According to her profile, she is an activist as well as one of the city’s most successful bartenders. She discussed her job as well as her personal life in an interview with District Fray Magazine.
