Josh Wilder is one of the 18 castaways competing for a $1 million monetary reward and the title of “Single Survivor.” The 34-year-old Surgical Podiatrist from Atlanta, Georgia, wishes to participate in the program to put his daring side to the test. In a conversation with Parade, he discussed his forthcoming season performance and opened up about having a genetic disability as a kid. He also stated that his organs were not completely effective due to prune gut condition, and he shared:
“Kristen Reagle, a cadaveric transplant donor, gave me a kidney donation when I was nine years old. She was killed by an inebriated motorist when she was 15 years old; it was as if her existence had never begun.”
The Survivor season 44 competitor stated that his donor was an active person who enjoyed being outside, so he is doing this for her as well as his own family. Josh began viewing the program when it first aired in May 2000, and he would watch it with his family every Thursday. He mentioned that he has seen almost every season of the CBS program, with the exception of a few that he had to skip due to med school and college. He connects with one victor, Jeremy, and one non-winner, Davie, because Davie was a wonderful social performer and performed admirably during the tasks.
In an interview, the cast member of the forthcoming season of the survival show stated that he wants to be viewed as active while on the show, as well as someone who provides for his comrades. To get to the finish, Josh wants to be more sociable and accepting of his fellow competitors, but once there, “it’s all gloves off.” He went on to say:
“I’m going to backstab, deceive, and do what I need to do to get there. But first and foremost, I’m going to play a very sociable game, be active, and be the giver. And then, God willing, once we combine, I’ll do what I need to do. All wagers are off the table.”
The Survivor season 44 competitor stated that he will not allow his feelings to get the better of him and will not allow others to toy with his emotions. Josh stated that he has seen it on the show before, with people playing on feelings and pulling at them to use them against each other, and he plans to avoid it occurring to him.
Furthermore, the candidate believes that he must keep his sights on the reward and not let other people get on his nerves, as Jonathan did with Maryanne. The season debut of Survivor season 44 will air on CBS on Wednesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
