Graham Blanks’ age is 21 years old, not 29, as Google searches indicate. Blanks is a Harvard University student who attended Athens Academy for high school. Graham, the reigning NCAA cross country champion and indoor 5000m record holder, had one of his greatest years in sports. He was unbeaten in 2023 and rang in the New Year with a massive NIL contract.
Blanks struck a partnership with New Balance and organized a three-mile run in his hometown on New Year’s Eve. Blanks, who started his running career by competing in the Turkey Trot, has come a long way. When questioned about his normal Friday night, the captain of his team, the 21-year-old claimed the only thing he does is sleep.
Graham Blanks Age: What Is The Runner’s Age?
Graham Blanks turned 21 last year, yet when you search his age, it comes up as 29. Last year, one of Graham’s fans left a birthday greeting on the Lets Run forum. The user said in the post on April 24, “Join me in wishing Graham a happy birthday! Graham, happy birthday!”
Graham, an Athens native, grew up playing soccer. At Athens Academy, a tiny private high school in Georgia, where he graduated in 2020, he was a letter winner in soccer, track & field, and cross country. Graham led the track & field and cross country teams at Athens throughout his junior and senior years. The lone runner in his family, the child attributes his participation in several events to his mother.
Graham said in an interview that he began running 5k events when he was 13 years old. His mother also introduced him to yearly turkey trots at a young age. Another reason Graham began jogging was to improve his endurance on the soccer field. That’s when his high school coaches, Geoffery Walton and Neville Anderson, realized they were dealing with something serious. Walton regarded Blanks’ running as easy, and although he knew Graham was a terrific runner, he never imagined him reaching this level. Graham was named Georgia Gatorade Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2019 as well as GATFXCCA Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Graham Blanks Family
Graham discussed both his mother’s and father’s side relatives in an interview. His parents split, but Eric and Mary Catherine remained close so that they could continue to contribute to their child’s development. Mary Catherine Smith, his mother, graduated from Athens Academy in 1993 and went on to receive an undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi-School of Business Administration.
Mary Catherine has worked as a realtor since 2010. She is a member of the Athens Academy Alumni Board, the Athens Heritage Garden Club, and the Colonial Dames of America, as well as Corcoran Classic Living. Mary may be found on Instagram, but her username is secret. Mary married Ed Smith after her divorce from Eric and they had two further children, Madison and Hudson. Eric Smith, Graham’s father, is also a University of Mississippi graduate. He previously worked as an account executive at GMAC Mortgage before moving on to Fidelity Bank as an account executive correspondent lending. He is presently employed as a correspondent account manager at Truist Bank. Annie Blanks, Graham’s only full sibling, attends the University of Georgia.
