Who Is Dr. Charles Procter From “1000-Lb Best Friends” Season 2?

Dr. Charles Procter

1000-Lb Best Friends will return to TLC for a second season, bringing four best friends who do everything together, including embark on a weight reduction journey. However, there is one more individual who is critical to their route to a better lifestyle: Dr. Charles Procter. Dr. Procter is a weight reduction surgeon that focuses on body and mental repair and has his own show, Too Large. He is headquartered in Atlanta and oversees the Beltline Health Weight Loss Solutions team. Season 2 of 1000-Lb Best Friends will air on TLC on Wednesday, January 4, at 10 p.m. ET.

Meet Dr. Charles Procter, who will feature in Season 2 of 1000-Lb Best Friends.

Tina, Vannessa, Meghan, and Ashely star in 1000-Lb Best Friends as they attempt to live better lives via their weight reduction quest. While fans have had a front-row ticket to the reality stars’ adventure, another individual has been following them attentively. Dr. Charles Procter appeared in season 1 and is slated to return for season 2. The bariatric surgeon is an American Board of Surgery-certified surgeon with over 15 years of expertise in general and bariatric surgery. Previously, he was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He also belongs to the American Hernia Society.

After acquiring his qualifications, the 1000-pound Best Friends cast member started his medical profession in 2007. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University of Ohio before going on to pursue degrees in Microbiology and Cellular Biology from the University of Georgia. Dr. Procter graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2002 and completed a general surgery residency at the institution in 2005, followed by a residency at Greenville Health System in 2007. In an interview with TLC, the doctor described bariatric surgery as a “great area.”

He went on to say:

“It is technically demanding, but it allows me to go on an incredible adventure with his patients. Seeing someone’s life alter so dramatically in a good way again and over is the finest job in the world.”

However, not every patient’s path is the same. Vannessa’s operation was authorized by the doctor in 1000-Lb Best Friends, and she has been focusing on living a better life since then.

The cast member said in a sneak preview of the forthcoming season that she underwent surgery over six months ago and has been feeling “wonderful.” She claims she is eating healthier and doesn’t miss bad food. Meanwhile, Meghan seems to be suffering and is hesitant to attend Dr. Procter. Megan seems to be upset during her conversation with the doctor in the sneak peek.

In the video, he says:

“One of my primary aims with Meghan has been to urge her to accept responsibility for her own health.”

He asks Meghan whether she’s been doing what she has to do to succeed and reminds her that she hasn’t attended a single aftercare visit. Meghan is seen weeping as she rushes out of the clinic with Tina. See what happens when 1000-Lb Best Friends season 2 begins on TLC on Wednesday, January 4.
