Morgan does not have a formal fashion degree, although she did remark in an interview with ShoutoutLA that “she developed her own curriculum” and took extended classes from Woodbury University, OTIS College of Art and Design, and FIDM.
She went on to say of her education:
“I relocated to Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Science in Sales and Marketing from the prestigious HBC Tuskegee University.” When I was 18, I launched my first company, tie dying and decorating denim and selling handmade jewelry out of my dorm room.”
Chyanne had worked in the fashion business for numerous years, but it was while working for Amazon that she discovered she wasn’t pleased with merely styling and wanted to be a designer instead. Ciara Chyanne Morgan launched her podcast Fashioned In Faith in 2019 and shared her story with the world, discussing how she frequently felt intensely the absence of a mentor in the profession. She sought to be herself on her podcast, commenting about things she was most knowledgeable about. The podcast also provides services and tools to assist other self-taught designers in their education.
Color, silhouette, and texture inspire the Making the Cut designer’s brand. Her designs are mostly focused on providing upgraded basics and simplistic ensembles for fashion enthusiasts.
According to her website:
“CIARA CHYANNE IS A LIFESTYLE, NOT JUST CLOTHING.” THE CIARA CHYANNE WOMAN ENJOYS STANDING OUT IN A ROOM WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE SHE TRIED. SHE IS UNAPOLOGETIC, FEARLESS, SMART, AND A FAITH-FILLED RISK TAKER.”
The designer also enjoys giving back to society and contributes a percentage of her revenue to non-profit organizations. OLCM Africa, a non-profit organization dedicated to improve living conditions in impoverished African areas, is one of the organizations to which she often gives.
The Making the Cut competitor is no stranger to fame. Her creations have been worn by Elaine Welteroth and Liza Koshy, and she has been featured in Essence magazine. Ciara was also awarded the She’s Next In Fashion award in 2022. Curtis Cassel, Emily Bargeron, Gabriella Meyer, Georgia Hardinge, Jeanette Limas, Rafael Chaouiche, Sienna Li, and Yannik Zamboni are among the other designers participating in Making the Cut Season 3. Sara Rea, Sue Kinkead, Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, and Jennifer Love serve as executive producers.
