The debut of AGT: All Stars 2023 is scheduled for January. The event is meant to revive spectacular performances that formerly graced the AGT stage and wowed the judges and audience. Dancers, vocalists, aerialists, acrobats, and other performers will be included in the future series. Caly Bevier, who initially debuted on AGT season 11, is one of the artists confirmed to feature on the program. The singer was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer when she was 15 years old. AGT: All Stars will debut on NBC on December 2, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
Meet Caly Bevier before she appears on AGT: All Stars.
Caly initially debuted on AGT in season 11, reaching the semifinals. She debuted in episode 4 with a version of Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, getting probably the most hardest golden buzzer to obtain on the program, Simon Cowell’s. During her semifinal segment, she said that there were times when she would simply lay in the hospital bed and wonder whether she would make it. She went on to say that she wasn’t the only youngster having treatment there, and that she made friends with a number of others, albeit not all of them survived.
She continued, saying:
“I was one of the fortunate ones that got out, and it’s sort of hard.”
Caly was one year into remission at the time of the audition; she would return to the hospital to be there for the other kids, and she was seen in the tape spending time with young cancer patients. Howie Mandel likened her appearance to Audrey Hepburn during her audition, prompting the future AGT: All Stars competitor to tell her tale. She went to the concert to teach others that no matter what they’ve been through, they should “keep following” their aspirations.
All of the judges gave her a standing ovation, and Simon gave her a thumbs-up before handing her the Golden Buzzer. In the quarterfinals, she sang Sara Bareilla’s Brave to standing ovations from Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Simon Cowell. She made it to the semifinals, where she sang Christina Perri’s Human. Her performance inspired the judges to support her once again. Her AGT quest, however, came to an end as she did not garner enough votes to go to the finals.
Caly discussed her AGT adventure in 2021 in a subsequent discussion with The Dynamic. She recalled coming onto the stage and felt as though all of her singing had led up to that moment.
She continued, saying:
“When I heard the first note over the loudspeakers, I sung my heart out with all emotion I could muster. Then everything became white. I was precisely where I needed to be. That moment made me understand how much I like being on stage. Until that time, as I have said, my voice was just for myself. I had no idea how it would feel to share it with thousands of people.”
The next AGT: All Stars competitor revealed that it took her a second to understand Simon’s decision to push the golden buzzer and see promise in her performance. Caly will now compete on AGT: All Stars 2023 in an effort to win the grand prize. Tune in on NBC and Peacock on December 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
