Edrice Femi Adebayo, better known as Bam Adebayo, was born on July 18, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey, United States of America. John Adebayo and Marilyn Blount are Bam Adebayo’s parents. His mother gave him the nickname Bam Bam when he was a year old. He attended Northside High School in Pinetown, North Carolina, and was a member of the high school basketball team.
He averaged 32.2 points and eight rebounds per game during his high school basketball career. He later transferred to High Point Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina, after finishing his Junior season.
After graduating from high school, he went on to play basketball at the University of Kentucky.

He played for the University of Kentucky’s team after enrolling, and he earned an 87-67 victory over the Valparaiso Crusaders on December 7, 2016. On April 5, 2017, he suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Elite Eight and promptly declared his entry into the 2017 NBA Draft.
After twenty days, he signed with an agency. In each of Kentucky’s 38 games between 2016 and 2017, he averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks.
