Viewers may be astonished to find that Angie Katsanevas tried out for a seat on the program in 2019 but did not make the cut. She is now poised to make her debut on the program as a devoted friend of housewife Jen Shah. Katsanevas and her husband, Shawn Trujillo, are most known for co-founding Lunatic Fringe. The Salon MBA (Masters in Business) award was also given to them as the creators of Lunatic Fringe Salons by the Professional Beauty Association’s North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA).
Within two decades of founding her salon, Angie had grown her business to ten locations across four states. Angie believes that, although the salons give excellent cut and color services, services such as Kérastase’s Fusio-Dose treatment set her location apart.
In an interview with the New York Banner, she and her spouse revealed:
“Treatments are not something that just anybody can provide, and they may not provide a high-quality product. We’re well-known for our treatments, and they’re a nice extra.”
Angie Katsanevas of RHOSLC has been married to Shawn Trujillo for almost 25 years.
The pair originally met at Trujillo’s salon, where Angie was a client. She happened to take the seat next to him at the station, and they instantly bonded and became friends. Their first connection led to a professional collaboration as well. The pair left the salon where they first met in 1999. After working side by side for more than four years, they were ready and eager to take their love and skill in the salon industry to the next level and start their own firm.
The pair took a risk and launched their successful company, Lunatic Fringe, a salon committed to supporting people in their professional development. Angie also discussed her initial impressions of meeting her husband, saying:
“We met at the salon while he was a hairdresser and I was just beginning beauty school, so we met there, and then I began going to beauty school. Then I worked as his assistant in the salon for a time.”
They have been married for more than 25 years and have a 10-year-old daughter called Elektra. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) is produced by Shed Media (a branch of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television), with executive producers Lisa Shannon, Dan Peirson, Lori Gordon, and Chaz Morgan. Andy Cohen also acts as the show’s executive producer. The third season of RHOSLC will be broadcast on Bravo TV on September 28.
