Who Are Nabi And Fatou Niang? Meet Lucas Niang Parents: Family Detail

Lucas Niang

Lucas Niang’s parents are from varied backgrounds. His mother, Fatou Niang, is from Côte d’Ivoire, while his father, Nabi, is from France. Lucas was born in New York City but spent some of his childhood in Geneva, Switzerland, before moving to New Canaan, Connecticut, when he returned to the United States. Lucas acquired his passion for football in New Canaan, beginning with the Pop Warner league in third grade. Despite his ability in other sports such as tennis, baseball, lacrosse, wrestling, and basketball, football became his love.

After succeeding in high school, Lucas decided to play collegiate football at TCU. His skill drew the attention of NFL scouts, and he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Lucas endured hurdles throughout his professional football career, including a stint on the reserve/PUP list. Despite these hurdles, he contributed to the Chiefs’ success, winning his first Super Bowl ring when the club defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Lucas made history as the first Frenchman to play and win a Super Bowl. Continuing his success, Lucas won his second Super Bowl title when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

The Super Bowl is one of the National Football League’s yearly championship games, and Nabi and Fatou never miss it. They appeared in-game last year as well. On February 12, 2023, Nabi and Fatou celebrated their son’s team’s 38-35 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Kansas City. Lucas credits his parents with much of his success, and he often adds, “I am so thankful for everyone that has helped me reach my goals,” Niang added. “I am especially grateful for my family, who has always been there and kept me grounded throughout this process.”
