Monika Czinano comes from a basketball-oriented family, with two sisters, Maggie and Mallory, who share her enthusiasm for the sport. Mallory recently made news by committing to play basketball at Minnesota State University, following in her sister’s footsteps. Maggie also demonstrates her skill on the basketball court as a member of the University of Minnesota.

The three sisters have been playing basketball since they were children, and they all want to play in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Monika Czinano, a professional basketball player from the United States, is most known for her performance as a power forward and center at the University of Iowa. her her time at Iowa, she reached an important milestone her senior year. She became just the sixth Hawkeye to achieve 2,000 career points, and the 38th in Big Ten Conference history. Even in high school, she was a three-time all-conference recipient, selected to the All-section team by Breakdown Sports Media in 2017 and 2018, and named First Team All-State in 2018.

Monika Czinano grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, with her two younger sisters, Maggie and Mallory Czinano. All three sisters played basketball and are active athletes. Maggie Czinano presently plays junior basketball for the University of Minnesota. Prior to her undergraduate career, she received Star Tribune All-Metro Honorable Mention recognition during her high school years.

Maggie also excelled in other sports, obtaining five letters in both soccer and track & field. She was a two-time all-conference selection and an honorable mention for all-state soccer in 2018. She committed to playing for Minnesota after high school, but due to numerous ailments, she only played in nine games her rookie year. In contrast, she appeared in 29 of the team’s 30 games the following season. Maggie got her first career start against Illinois (1/15), finishing with six points on 3-of-4 shooting and five rebounds. She also had a career-high 11 rebounds in her third career start against Purdue.

Sister Mallory Is a Forward for Minnesota State University

Mallory Czinano, a 6’0 forward from Watertown, Minnesota, is an accomplished athlete who excelled in a variety of sports at Watertown-Mayer High School. Mallory received three varsity letters in basketball, volleyball, and track throughout her high school career. During her junior basketball season with the Royals, she averaged 11 points and 5.7 rebounds. Mallory has been named three times to the All-Conference team and received the Most Improved Player honor as a freshman and sophomore.

In addition to her basketball abilities, Mallory has participated in a variety of track and field events, including the 100m, 200m, and 400m sprints, and has qualified for state in the shot put. She now plays basketball at Minnesota State University.
