Gary Curry, Jayda’s father, is originally from New York. He is presently employed as the Senior Performance Manager at APCO Holdings. According to sources, Gary graduated from Dudley High School and played baseball at an early age. He graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1989, with a focus in Speech Communication and Rhetoric. Notably, Gary was instrumental in sparking Jayda’s enthusiasm for basketball from an early age.
Jayda cherishes her earliest recollections of her father putting a basketball in her hands when she was four years old. Gary believed in Jayda’s ability even then, seeing her future in Division I basketball.
Meet Mother Robin Curry
Jayda’s mother, Robin Curry, has played an equally important role in molding her daughter’s road to success. Robin is from Hampton, Virginia, and graduated from El Dorado High School. She was also a former athlete, having played softball in her youth. She also studied public relations and journalism at California State University from 1985 to 1990. The mother of four is sometimes spotted on the court, shouting for Jayda and applauding her accomplishments.
