Where Is Elisha Cuthbert Now? What is She Doing In 2023?

Elisha Cuthbert

People were exposed to some of the most memorable fashion styles, movies, and celebrities in the early 2000s. Elisha Cuthbert was one such star, and many still wonder, “what happened to Elisha Cuthbert?” What happened to her? She was tipped to be Hollywood’s next major female star because she seemed to have what was required. But, as quickly as Cuthbert arrived, she vanished from the spotlight and couldn’t find her way back to the top.

Elisha Cuthbert’s Ascension to Fame

The film The Girl Next Door marked Cuthbert’s debut in the business. Danielle, a former porn star fleeing her shady background, was played by the actress. Her depiction of the lovely girl next door won her many fans, and she was called “TV’s Most Beautiful Woman” at the time. Cuthbert went on to feature in the 2005 version of House of Wax and the 2007 film Captivity after The Girl Next Door. She began the decade with Happy Endings, which aired on ABC for three seasons. The series was a critical success and had a large fan base, but it was canceled. Following that, viewers saw very little of the Captivity actress.

Elisha Cuthbert’s Comeback

Despite her absence from the spotlight, the actress seems to be planning a return. Cuthbert has recently acted in films such as 2017’s Goon: Last of the Enforcers and Netflix’s The Ranch. She played one of the stars in the Ashton Kutcher/Sam Elliott-led series before it was canceled by Netflix. The actress’s Netflix career may have ended, but she has no plans to slow down anytime soon. She also appeared in Eat Wheaties! with Tony Hale and hosted Canada’s Drag Race as a guest. In terms of next projects, she is said to be returning to her horror roots with The Cellar, which is now in post-production. She will also act opposite Josh Duhamel and Mel Gibson in the heist thriller Bandit. The premiere date for the action-thriller, however, has yet to be determined.

Elisha Cuthbert’s Philanthropic Activities

When she is not working on a project, the actress volunteers for noble causes. The actress has worked on initiatives for the Special Olympics and its athletic event, the virtual 5K walk/run. She has also long been a sponsor of the Enriching Lives Gala, which generates funding for “grassroots programming, quality contests, skilled coaches, and much more for athletes of all ages and ability levels.”

Aside from helping Special Olympics, the Happy Endings star is active with Tim Hortons Camp Day, a fundraiser that aims to deliver transformational programs and life-changing skills to youngsters from low-income families. In 2018, she participated in a coffee drive-thru fundraising at Tim Hortons. She said to SaltWire, “Just in the hour I was here, so many people came by. And it’s a fantastic place to be because you’re just connecting with your community. On top of that, being able to generate funds for all of the camps is fantastic.” She went on to say that the event was a fantastic endeavor and that, as a mother herself, she was honored to be a part of it.
