Bethenny Frankel recently posted a video on Instagram about her health problems, including her battles with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). According to the video’s caption:
“Some people have commented that my visage looks different in recent recordings, so here’s why.”
Frankel stated that she was distended and enlarged and that her weight had increased by about 4 pounds in three days because her body was “desperately holding on to any fluids it could.” She described POTS as an auto-immune disease that has worsened as a result of Covid-19. Bethenny Frankel stated that she knows many individuals who have been afflicted with the same disease and that it is a condition she can handle. She went on to say:
“I have persistent extreme depletion. I’ve always had incredibly low blood pressure and exhaustion, but it’s grown much worse. I make a concerted attempt to remain hydrated, get IVs, and haven’t had alcohol in 6 months. I’m essentially on the job.”

Bethenny Frankel added that the arid environment has exacerbated her situation, and she ended by saying that when people remark on a person’s outward look, they are unaware of what the person has been going through individually, physiologically, and emotionally.
POTS: Signs, Causes, and Prevention
The Cleveland Clinic defines postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome as a disease in which the pulse pumps quicker than usual when a person rests, lays down, or rises up. Instances of POTS differ from one another, and symptoms may worsen or improve over the next few years. POTS is most prevalent in females aged 15 to 50. It is also possible for men to acquire it at delivery. If a person has been struggling with another type of disease for a long period, he or she may be identified with POTS. Ladies who are expectant are at a higher risk of getting it, and bodily injuries or treatment may also play a role.
Anyone diagnosed with POTS has a greater chance of having more blood pool in vessels beneath the heart as they stand. The body produces more norepinephrine or adrenaline, which causes blood arteries to constrict. Because the blood arteries do not react to the hormones, the pulse rate rises, causing vertigo, syncope, and fatigue. Dizziness, fainting, problems with concentration, heart palpitations, exhaustion or fatigue, nervousness, excessive sweating, difficulty breathing, chest pain, headache, bloating, and disrupted sleep due to chest pain, racing heart rate, and excessive sweating during sleep are all common symptoms of POTS.
A remedy for POTS is still being researched, but exercise, physical exertion, and eating a healthy diet can help to alleviate symptoms to some degree. Medications such as fludrocortisone, pyridostigmine, midodrine, and beta-blockers are also options.
Despite her health problems, Bethenny Frankel is loving her life.
Bethenny Frankel’s POTS condition has caused her many problems, but she is still having a great time. She recently shared a photo in which she is seen beaming and writing that living in the highlands has caused her many health issues, but she is grateful to be able to live in such a lovely location and pursue her interests. Frankel stated:
“The battle with health is true, but the thrill of the journey almost makes it worthwhile. Prioritizing health and exercise is critical as we endeavor to be the best version of ourselves for our children and households.”
She concluded the post by praising everyone for their love and well wishes, adding a notation that she knows how to do her cosmetics and can bring herself together when she’s “feeling so cr**py.” Bethenny Frankel is best known for her performances on The Real Housewives of New York City, but she has also appeared on Chelsea Lately, Dancing with the Stars, Million Dollar Listing New York, Bar Rescue, Beat Bobby Flay, and other programs.
