Weston McKennie was born on August 28, 1998, at Fort Lewis, Washington, USA. He spent most of his boyhood in Germany since his father was an airforce officer sent there. McKennie began playing football for local clubs at an early age. He joined MLS club FC Dallas after returning to the United States in 2004.
