Wendy Williams, a writer, and TV personality confessed to Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee on Tuesday, August 2, that she married a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer. She went on to say that this supposed husband’s name was Henry.
However, her manager, William Selby, informed Page Six that Williams is not married to the cop and may have stated this as a result of her excitement. In the interview, the 58-year-old New Jersey native gave no additional information about her claimed wedding to an NYPD officer called Henry. Despite Selby’s claims, Williams claimed to have married last week in answer to a question about her wedding from Hollywood Unlocked host and creator Jason Lee. Williams informed Lee over the phone at the time:
“I’m married…”I married…”I recently married.”

Wendy Williams avoided disclosing any further information about her purported spouse, Henry, who is allegedly an NYPD officer, throughout the interview. The TV host, however, provided no information about her identity or position in the department. Following the interview, her ostensible manager, William Selby, told Page Six:
“That is incorrect… She is probably overjoyed about a new connection and got carried away in talking.”
According to Radar Online, Selby was previously intimately connected with Williams. According to the magazine, Selby was romantically connected with Williams in 2020, after she concluded her divorce from long-term husband Kevin Hunter.
Wendy Williams’ previous relationship charges were dismissed
Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter split in 2020 after 23 years of marriage, claiming irreconcilable differences and opting to forego alimony. Williams said that she was seeing a doctor in his 50s shortly after filing for divorce in 2019. She discussed the purported romance on her program at the time. According to Williams:
“I’m no longer for sale.” I’m not in a relationship. I’m not sure how I’m doing. I’m not in love, yet there is someone I adore… It is not who you believe.”
The 58-year-old went on to say:
“I understand, but when it comes to the comfort of a guy, I need someone in his 50s, and he has to work.” It certainly helps that he is a doctor. He’s been married before. His children are in their twenties, and he is, indeed, black. He’s dark and black.”
However, Dr. Darrin Porcher, who had previously been connected to her, rejected having a relationship with her within a few days after her announcement. He said on Page Six:
“It’s nice to hear, but it’s not true…I’m in a committed relationship. I only did security for her for a few weeks after she filed for divorce.”
Wendy Williams never admitted publicly that she was in a relationship with Dr. Porcher. Several accounts, however, suggested that she was in a relationship with the former cop turned Ph.D. researcher. Among these assertions, it is questionable if Wendy Williams’ marriage claims are true.
While there have been no public mentions of Henry, the mysterious guy, Wendy Williams may have referenced him in a piece last year. Williams went to social media in August 2021 to publish a photo of herself in a vehicle with her apparent partner. It was most likely during her son Kevin Hunter Jr’s birthday party. The photograph was captioned:
“My son’s 21st birthday celebration on the boat in #Miami was perfect!” My boyfriend, too.”
The post, however, has now been removed.
