Wade Hayes was born on April 20, 1969, in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, and reared there. Don Hayes, his father, is also a seasoned country singer. Wade was motivated to pursue a career in singing by his father. ayes used to play banjo as a kid, and after seeing him do so, his father purchased him a guitar. Then he began to perform it. When he was eleven years old, his family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee.
