Victor began his career with a folk tune, creating The Sugar Shoppe with Laurie Hood, Peter Mann, and Lee Harris. He co-starred in the 1972 Toronto version of Godspell with Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Gila Radner, Dave Thomas, Paul Shaffer, and Martin Short. The performer appeared on Broadway in the initial performances of Deathtrap, Sweeney Todd, and Noises OFF, as well as the original Broadway ensemble of Assassins and the Damn Yankees revival in the 1990s.
He portrayed Frederic in the Los Angeles Opera performance of A Little Night Music in 2005. He appeared as Ben in a highly acclaimed Encores show performance. His first film appearance was in Godspell, in which he portrayed the role of Jesus. In 1993, he appeared as a figure in Sleepless in Seattle.
