Cruz may now be a successful man with a ten-year football career under his belt. When he was younger, however, it was not the same. Despite his success, he maintains a grounded attitude and wishes to instill the same values in his daughter.
According to his accounts, he frequently took her to his old neighborhood to show her around and show her where he came from. He told her about his journey to help her understand that they had “come a long way.”
He also revealed that he enlisted the help of his ex-girlfriend to look after Kennedy. Despite the fact that they had separated, they were still able to communicate effectively with one another.
For the sake of their child, they put their ego aside to avoid “turmoil and distraction.” In order to co-parent effectively, he stated that “the focus should never be on the parents.”
A Proud Afro-Latina Daughter of Victor Cruz
Cruz, a proud Afro-Latino, revealed that he instilled the same values in Kennedy. He gushed about his daughter, describing her as energetic, bright, and fearless.
The former football player went on to say that his daughter “ramps up two notches” his personality.
The father-daughter team also enjoys giving back to the community. For example, on Thanksgiving 2019, they volunteered at a homeless shelter in Paterson.
Paterson, in his own words, was instrumental in helping him embrace his heritage and ethnicity. Cruz stated that they planned to volunteer every year to teach Kennedy the value of community service.
He now lives 17 minutes away from where he used to live. Kennedy will be able to embrace her heritage in the same way that her father did.
He also teaches her about his family’s culture and the value of staying connected to one’s roots. He’s even teaching her to be “bilingual and multicultural” as she grows up.
Victor Cruz’s Previous Girlfriend
Karrueche Tran was Victor Cruz’s last known dating relationship. Before the former NFL player asked Tran to be his girlfriend in December 2017, the two had been friends.
After being seen walking hand-in-hand in L.A., their relationship was confirmed. Their budding romance, however, reportedly hit a snag when they were unable to quarantine together due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless, they were able to make it work via FaceTime.
Cruz and his girlfriend split up in February 2021 after three years together. According to E! News, the two were concentrating on furthering their careers. Furthermore, it was said that the two had no animosity toward one another. They were “moving forward in life separately,” rather.
