Bure scored 49 goals in 53 games for the Chiefs in his first season in the WHL in 1991-92.
Bure’s playing career began when he joined the Montreal Canadiens, the club on whom he starred the most. Bure was just five feet ten inches tall, and he and his linemates Saku Koivu (5’10) and Oleg Petrov (5’9) were regarded as the ‘Smurf’ line.
