Tyler Adams is a New York-born American soccer player who now plays for RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga. He graduated from the New York Red Bulls Academy and played with the New York second squad at the age of 16 before moving up to the first team. Tyler was born to his mother “Melissa Russo” when she was just 22 years old, forcing her to leave her studies in order to concentrate on raising him. Tyler was largely inspired by her mother, who, after seeing his skill on the field, did all she could to ensure he fulfilled his ambition. She drove him to the training facility, which was approximately 150 miles away from their house, and Tyler didn’t miss a single training session. - Adams was signed by the New York Red Bulls II, the club’s senior reserve side in the United Soccer League, on March 19, 2015. On April 4, 2015, Adams made his debut appearance for the team in a 4-1 victory against Toronto FC II, the club’s first win.
- Adams was a regular starter for NYRB II throughout the 2016 season, and he helped the club win the USL Cup Final 5-1 over Swope Park Rangers.
- On July 23, 2015, Adams made his New York Red Bulls debut against Premier League champions Chelsea in a friendly match. He headed the ball past Asmir Begovic in the 69th minute to give the Red Bulls a 4-2 win.
