Tony Shalhoub is of Lebanese descent, the son of Joe Shalhoub, who immigrated from Lebanon, and Helen Shalhoub, a second-generation Lebanese-American. He was the tenth and final sibling of ten siblings. Michael Shalhoub and Susan Shalhoub Larkin are two of his siblings. Shalhoub’s family was not particularly wealthy, and his father ran a mobile meat truck. Tony and his family were residents of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Though Tony did not win any awards for his performance, it did solidify his career as a television and film actor.
