Tom Sizemore, the star of Saving Private Ryan, was recently hospitalized after suffering from a brain aneurysm. His representative acknowledged this and said that he needed to be admitted to the intensive care unit. Tom’s manager, Charles Lago, stated in a statement to Fox News,
“He’s been admitted to the hospital. His family is aware of the situation and wishes him well. It is too early to speculate on [a] recovery scenario since he is in critical condition and being monitored.”
According to Charles, an anonymous stranger noticed Tom Sizemore, 61, unconscious at his residence and promptly notified the police.
While Tom Sizemore remains in critical care, the causes, prevention, and symptoms of brain aneurysms are being investigated.
A person has a brain aneurysm if he or she has a severe headache or other symptoms that might be related to a burst aneurysm. A few tests may detect bleeding in the gap between the brain and surrounding tissues, while other tests can determine if there are symptoms of an unruptured brain aneurysm. A few methods may be used to address the issue. The first is a surgical clipping, in which the neurosurgeon removes a portion of the skull to access the aneurysm and locate the blood supply that is feeding the aneurysm. To halt the flow of blood, a tiny metal clip will be put around the aneurysm’s neck.
Endovascular therapy involves inserting a catheter into an artery and threading it across the body to the aneurysm. To demolish the aneurysm from inside the blood artery, a device such as a flow diverter, intraluminal flow disrupter, stent, coils, or a combination of multiple devices is employed. Pain relievers, calcium channel blockers, interventions to avoid strokes from the inadequate blood supply, anti-seizure drugs, ventricular or lumbar draining catheters, shunt surgery, and rehabilitative therapy are among more therapies for burst brain aneurysms.

Tom Sizemore, who acquired a heroin addiction at an early age, failed drug tests while on probation in 2005. He was also on probation when he was arrested in 2007 on methamphetamine possession charges. In a 2013 interview, he said that he began sobriety after being persuaded by actor Robert De Niro, who also drove him to treatment. Sizemore told Access Hollywood in an interview,
“I stepped in to visit my therapist and there were all these folks there… I sit down, and Bob walks in and says, ‘OK. Now we can chat… Now listen to me, I’m not a psychiatrist… So you’re either going to rehab or jail, and then a policeman shows up.”
Tom Sizemore said that he originally laughed about it, but De Niro threatened him with a year in jail. The latter allegedly promised Sizemore that he would fly him to rehab on a private jet, but Sizemore recommended waiting until they finished production for the crime thriller film Heat. Sizemore revealed that he shot Heat’s last scene and intended to attend treatment, but instead went to a hotel and checked in under a different identity. He also said that De Niro was able to locate him. Tom Sizemore is well known for his roles in films such as Passenger 57, Born on the Fourth of July, Zyzzyx Road, Black Hawk Down, Natural Born Killers, and many more.
