AGT: All Stars, which premieres on NBC this Monday, will include 60 previous competitors, fan favorites, and champions from multiple Got Talent franchises. As a spin-off series, the program will see some of the best performers back on stage to showcase their skills as they compete for a $1 million cash reward and the coveted title. Tom Ball, who previously performed on Britain’s Got Talent season 15 in 2022, is one of the competitors expected to perform. Despite making it to the finals of BGT, the singer finished third following Axel Blake.

AGT: All Stars competitor Tom Hall said during his audition for BGT that his pupils were ignorant of his involvement in the program.

Tom Ball, hailing from West Sussex, was 23 years old at the time of the auditions. The secondary school teacher attended the reality program with his fiancée and said that his kids had no idea he was on the show. He went on to say that most of them had no idea he could sing since he had only sung in one of his courses. Judge Simon Cowell asked him if there is one musician he feels he might be as big as an AGT: All Stars competitor, to which the candidate said that he has frequently likened himself to Michael Ball. He opened with Sam Smith’s Writing on the Wall, which drew a wave of applause from the crowd.

Even before he finished, the crowd was on its feet, applauding along with Simon Cowell, who couldn’t stop grinning. Following his performance, the entire panel of judges, as well as the studio audience, gave him a standing ovation. Judge Amanda Holden described him as a “powerhouse” and said his audition was one of the “greatest things” they’d had in the previous 16 years. Simon stated:

“There’s something endearing about you.”

He went on to say:

“I’m pleased you arrived, I’m overjoyed.”

The whole panel voted yes, moving him to the semi-finals, where he sang Conchita Wurst’s Rise Like a Phoenix. His performance affected everyone once again, and Alesha said that he had a “calm inner confidence” that comes through in his voice. The future AGT: All Stars participant received the most public votes and advanced straight to the finals.

Tom said in the short before his performance that he enjoys his profession and enjoys singing. He also said that the most important thing he can teach his kids is to “follow their aspirations.” Tom stated:

“A handful of youngsters mentioned you inspired them, which is something you’ll never forget as a teacher.”

Tom sang I (Who Have Nothing) by Tom Jones in the finals, earning him another round of standing ovations. Following his performance, David Williams said that he wanted to establish a Tumblr fan club and become its first paying member. Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon described his performance as “amazing,” while Amanda described it as “unbelievable” and “unforgettable.”

She continued, saying:

“I’ll eat my k*ickers if you’re not in the London Palladium before the end of the year.”

Simon Cowell was struck speechless but praised the performance. In the end, the next AGT: All Stars participant came in third place in the public vote, behind only Axel Blake and Jamie Leahey. Tom will now hit the stage once again as part of AGT: All Stars, which will debut on NBC on Monday, January 2 at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, the episode will be accessible on Peacock the day after it airs on television.
