Toby Keith, an American country musician, disclosed last autumn that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and has been getting treatment for it for the last six months. On June 12, the 60-year-old artist took to Twitter to release a message in which he informed his admirers of the news.
“I was diagnosed with stomach cancer last autumn.” I’ve spent the past six months through chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Thus far, so good. “I need to take some time to breathe, recoup, and rest.”

Despite his condition, the I Love This Bar singer kept performing live. Keith performed on Memorial Day weekend at the Heroes Honor Festival in Daytona Beach, Florida, and also sold out the San Antonio Rodeo in February 2022. In May, he also attended the 2022 Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic, which raised more than $1.38 million for charity. However, after six months of therapy and treatment, the singer is ready for a well-deserved break, but he intends to return to the stage as soon as possible.
“I am excited to spend time with my family.” But I’ll meet the fans sooner rather than later. “I can hardly wait.”
Keith was scheduled to appear at two upcoming performances, including one at the Ohio State Fair on July 28. According to event organizers, Keith’s shows have now been canceled, with refunds available to anybody who bought tickets. Keith was also set to play at a couple more shows this summer, from mid-July through late August.

Toby Keith has previously admitted to consuming marijuana with Willie Nelson.
According to Outsider, Toby Keith has freely acknowledged using marijuana with Willie Nelson after a show in Las Vegas.
According to the magazine, the singer said in an interview:
“Willie was on the court at eight o’clock. I’m going to see Willie. I get up and sing a couple of songs with him. And as I’m about to go, he yells at the stage, ‘Stay a little bit after the concert, I want to speak to you.'”
When Willie handed Keith some marijuana, he waited for Nelson to finish his act before rejoining him on his tour van.
“I’ve never used much marijuana in my life.” This isn’t my high. I couldn’t function after we burnt one. It was the most potent cannabis I’d ever smoked. And I only struck it three or four times.”
Toby Keith said he was “very high” when he departed Nelson’s tour bus and was in bed by 11:30 p.m. on his one night off in Vegas. Keith stated he informed his buddy Scott Emerick, who also got a touch too high with Nelson, about it. Wacky Tobaccy, a song about it, was written by the two.
Toby Keith founded the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 to assist children with cancer across Oklahoma. The OK Kids Korral, which offers no-cost lodging to pediatric cancer patients and their families while they get treatment at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, which is near to Keith’s hometown, was built in 2014. Keith married Tricia Lucus in 1984, and they have two children. Shelley Covel Rowland, Krystal Keith, and Stelen Keith Covel are their three children.
