Timothy Richard Tebow was born on August 14, 1987, in Manila, Philippines, to parents Robert Ramsey Tebow II and Pamela Elaine Pemberton.
His parents homeschooled him and his four other siblings. He went on to play in the US Army All-American Bowl. He attended the University of Florida and played football for the Florida Gators from 2006 to 2009.
