Tim Minchin has been a musician for as long as he has married Sarah Minchin. Throughout their marriage, he has been forthright with his wife about his time on tour and his meetings with other women. On the other hand, he had not composed any songs about his love or devotion. So, while composing for his first studio album, he created a few songs that represented his sentiments towards faithfulness.
Tim Minchin Chose His Wife Above Others
‘I’ll Take Lonely Tonight,’ Tim’s second single off his first album, Apart Together. It was a song about how he had spent his entire life touring and had been separated from his wife for the most part. He poured his feelings about being alone during tours and the urge to be unfaithful to his spouse into the song. The song, however, was a celebration of not having cheated on her rather than an acknowledgment of unfaithfulness.
In his own words, the song “drives towards a release of relief, the bliss, the almost-ecstatic orgasmic bliss of having not f—-d up.”
Tim explained the whole record was about trying to speak honestly and describe how he experienced love over the years when speaking to NME, where he made the comment above. Committing to another person, he said, was a pledge to “falling apart together.” During another interview with I News, he stated that when traveling, he was put in circumstances where he may have been unfaithful. But every time, he chose loyalty. His whole idea of love was that it was dependent on human choices. “It’s [sic] a decision that must be made again and over in the face of countless other options. And there’s a certain beauty about it.”

Sarah, his wife, is aware of all of this. Tim has always been honest in his marriage, and Sarah understood why he wrote these songs. The artist said that she knew that individuals had to make a conscious decision to stay loyal. He believed that as time passed, the decision got more difficult. He did admit, however, that Sarah loved the music and did not find the emotions strange, despite the fact that she had difficulties hearing the lyrics for the first time. While Tim sees these rushes and his ability to manage them as a tribute to his relationship, Sarah is unconcerned. She once retaliated by saying he had written another song that led girls to believe “he was someone sexual.”
Tim Minchin’s Family Life
Tim and Sarah met while they were youngsters in Perth. When he was 17, she was the first woman he dated. That was in around 1992. Tim and his wife married in 2001 and have two children together. Their daughter, Violet, was 12, and their son Caspar was nine as of September 2018. The family was originally from Los Angeles but relocated to Sydney in December 2017.
