Chase documented the proposal with two photographs and a video on his Instagram page. He captioned the image, tagging his now-fiancee Ellie,
“You were always there.”
Chase said in an interview with E! News:
“I knew right away that she was the one I wanted to be with me for the rest of my life.”
In May 2020, the pair made their relationship Instagram official. Chase has previously been on dating reality series such as The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and Ex on the Beach in search of love.
Chase McNary’s romantic history
She made his reality TV debut on The Bachelorette Season 12 as a contestant for Jojo Fletcher’s attention. Chase’s response to the question of what marriage meant to him was:
“One girl, one promise – for the rest of eternity.” “I’m your best buddy.”
Despite being discarded abruptly after expressing his love for Jojo on the ABC program, Chase garnered the audience’s sympathy. Jojo rejected Chase after asking him to join her in the Fantasy Suite and he expressed his love for her. Chase, who finished third on The Bachelorette, was understandably devastated and stunned by his leaving and talked about it in subsequent interviews. He said to ABC News:
“I suppose at that point, I was simply in so much shock, sadness, and bewilderment.” Because everything had gone so smoothly the day before, and the whole town before that, why would things go so wrong?”
According to sources, Chase was supposed to return as The Bachelor for Season 21 but it fell through at the last minute before Nick Viall took over.
Chase explained to Us Weekly:
“I discussed becoming the Bachelor with my family and friends.” They informed me I wasn’t the Bachelor on Monday before they revealed it. So, like the rest of the world, I discovered that it was Nick.”
As a result, the Colorado native was meant to be a member of The Bachelor: Winter Games, but he dropped out to join MTV. Chase later appeared with ex Skyler Mikkelson on MTV’s Ex on the Beach. In the episode, the Bachelorette alum was represented as a player, and he didn’t appreciate how he came across. Chase made a brief return to ABC with Bachelor in Paradise Season 6, when he was matched with Angela Amezcua. The reality show star has also said publicly that he dated former TV host Tomi Lahren for a short time.
After a string of bad luck in love, the 33-year-old chose to leave reality television, stating on Instagram in March 2020:
“Now that I’m no longer attempting to create a reality TV identity, my objective is to appear on social media more regular, genuine, and honest than ever before!”
He became a “project manager/estimator restoring the exteriors of multifamily/apartment and commercial buildings.” Chase confirmed his connection with now-fiance Ellie in May 2020 with an Instagram post in which he asked her to be his girlfriend. Since then, the pair has been sharing photos of themselves together. On Saturday, Chris proposed to the hat designer at a romantic picnic at the foot of the Rocky Mountains outside of Breckenridge.
