Ryan Edwards, the Teen Mom star, was arrested on February 10 on charges of violating a protection order granted when it was discovered that he was cheating on his wife, Mackenzie Standifer. Police discovered cocaine in Edwards’ hands when they searched him.
The Hamilton County Sheriff had requested him to vacate the home near Harrison Bay State Park where he was residing prior to his arrest. On the same day, he posted an NSFW photo in which he accused Standifer of cheating on him. The message contained a photo of Standifer wearing a leather jacket with her naked flesh showing. The caption read:
“If you’ve never seen a spineless sl*t, this is it. They steal your money and sleep with everybody who looks at them. They must, however, have a wife. What a farce. It’s terribly sad.”
The term NSFW stands for “not safe for work.” It is typically used when someone uploads anything that is not suitable for public consumption, such as nude images.
Standifer submitted a complaint alleging that Ryan Edwards also communicated with her father Bob, which was not authorized for Ryan. Following his arrest, the sheriff’s office said in a news statement that Edwards violated the Order of Protection by contacting Mackenzie’s father and threatening to remove his belongings from Standifer’s house. The statement continued, saying:
“While investigating the violation of the Order of Protection, HCSO investigators discovered Ryan had an active harassment warrant issued by the Chattanooga Police Department. In that occurrence, Mackenzie was named as the victim. The warrant was issued on February 8, 2023.”
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer’s relationship has ups and downs.
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer began dating in 2016 and married in 2017. They eventually had four children. However, his drug issues began to cause a schism between them. Ryan accused his wife of cheating in an Instagram post displaying the couple’s photo. In the comments area, he wrote:
“Remove your wife from this.” I’m not proud of being married to someone who frequents bars and returns home with others. [sic] dudes… Tomorrow can’t come soon enough. Do you have any idea what occurs when you lie with dogs? Take a peek at who I’m speaking to. And then blaming everything on my addiction – divorce is the appropriate thing to do.”
Edwards told The US Sun that he was incorrect about his wife and that he did not want to be apart from her. In 2018, a source for Us stated that Mackenzie seemed unconcerned about Ryan’s addiction issues. The source said at the time that she wanted to concentrate on the baby and hoped that doing so would assist her spouse in becoming clean. According to the source, Edwards refuted his accusations of addiction to Mackenzie, and the latter believed him.

Ryan Edwards has struggled with drug addiction for a long time and has been arrested multiple times. His legal issues began with his arrest in 2017 on heroin possession charges. He was subsequently seen dozing off at the 2017 Teen Mom finale.
Despite being detained, he broke his probation in 2018 and was freed on a $5,000 bail. His ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney sought a restraining order against Edwards, and one was granted. He breached probation again and spent a week in jail. Edwards was sentenced to six months probation and random drug testing throughout that time. He went to treatment in 2018 and was released after 90 days. Ryan was arrested in 2019 on theft and heroin possession charges, the latter stemming from an outstanding warrant.
