Steven Seagal was born on April 10, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan, to Samuel and Patricia Seagal. He is of Irish, Mongolian, Dutch, English, and German ancestry. He attended Buena Park High School and Fullerton College. He moved to Japan with his father in his early twenties and became involved in martial arts. He is the first foreigner in Japan to run his own aikido dojo.
