Steve Sarkisian

Steve Sarkisian weight loss after undergoing heart surgery in 2020. Sarkisian was characterized as a ticking time bomb, but he was rescued by Nick Saban. Steve Sarkisian, the head coach at Texas, has been clean for eight years. It’s also been eight years since the event at USC. Sarkisian was sacked from USC when he appeared drunk during meetings and games. He also had a tumultuous divorce from his first wife, with whom he had three children. But, gradually and surely, his life began to return to normal. His present wife, Loreal, was really helpful, but it was also the coach’s determination to turn his life around.

Steve Sarkisian’s Weight Loss: Does He Have Any Disease?

Steve Sarkisian’s weight loss may be attributed to the healthy lifestyle he has followed following having heart surgery. The football coach is not now afflicted with any ailment or illness. Sarkisian had heart surgery in 2020. Sarkisian was still a coach at Alabama under Nick Saban’s leadership at the time. The heart surgery was performed to treat a congenital cardiovascular abnormality.

The procedure created a 7-inch vertical scar from the top of his rib cage to the bottom of his stomach, but it saved his life. And Texas’ coach and family are grateful to Nick Saban. Saban’s father died of heart disease when he was 46 years old. As a result, Saban ordered that all of his employees get their heart health tested. During the extensive physical check, the doctor noticed Sarkisian had a cardiac problem and promptly advised him to seek emergency surgery. Doctors induced profound hypothermic circulatory arrest, slowed his heart to a crawl, lowered his body temperature, and then cut him open.

The study also revealed that Steve was born with a bicuspid valve, which occurs in just 1% of the population. Sarkisian’s recuperation took place during COVID-19, with him needing to undertake heart and lung exercises. In an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2020, Steve said that the procedure helped him to reduce some weight. He also said that he felt lighter on his feet throughout practice.

Steve Sarkisian’s Wife Helps During A Difficult Time

In 2015, Steve Sarkisian was at an all-time low. He was dismissed by USC after exhibiting unpredictable conduct during practice. Following his divorce from his first wife, the coach struggled with drinking. But he soon met his second wife, Loreal Sarkisian, who guided him through the most difficult period of his life. Saban has maintained his sobriety since his dismissal from USC.

Sarkisian stated in 2017, two years after the event, that he was still in a treatment program for his drinking issues. He informed reporters that his drinking began while he was coaching the Washington Huskies from 2009 to 2013. Sarkisian said in 2021 that if the event had not occurred, he would not be the guy he is today. He also said that his experience will benefit his teammates who face difficulty regularly.

Steve said that he wanted to become a role model for them to look up to. Steve discussed his wife and her influence on the Pivot Podcast.

“The reality is, there were things in my life that, shoot, I had to get reconnected to the Lord, and she helped me do that,” the coach stated. “I had to rediscover my self-esteem.”

He went on to explain, “She was the one when jobs would come up, she would say, ‘I don’t think that’s the one, I think you are better than that.” Sarkisian went on to say Loreal provided him the courage to start again. Loreal was the one who helped her husband walk again and helped him heal following his heart surgery in 2020. It had only been one week after they were married.

In an interview, Loreal discussed her anxiety after Steve’s operation. She wondered whether Steve would ever return to regular activities, much alone coaching. She would also drive him to work every day at 5 a.m., as Steve had forbidden. But Steve quickly regained his stride, and the two are now seen enjoying their best lives in Texas.
