During his high school years, Steve Perry worked with a variety of bands. His mother was always encouraging him to pursue a musical career at the time. Later, Steve Perry relocated to Sacramento, California, and formed “Ice” with Scott Mathews. Because the band was a shambles due to poor management, they disbanded, and Steve relocated to Thousand Oaks, California, to form “Pieces” with Tim Bogert, Eddie Tuduri, and Denver Cross. The “Pieces” band failed to land a recording contract and thus disbanded. After that, Steve Perry joined another band called “Alien Project,” and when the band’s bassist, Richard Michaels, died in a car accident, Steve felt compelled to leave.
