Steve Bullock was born in Missoula, Montana, on April 11, 1966. He was born and raised in Helena, the state capital. He is the son of school board trustee Penny Clark and teacher and administrator Mike Bullock. He graduated from Helena High School in 1984, according to his education.
When he was in elementary school, his parents divorced. Bullock earned his B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Claremont McKenna College and his J.D. with honors from New York’s Columbia Law School. Steve Bullock is an actor.

Career

Steve Bullock began his career in 1996 as the chief legal counsel to Montana Secretary of State Mike Cooney. He later worked for Attorney General Joe Mazurek’s Montana Department of Justice for four years, first as executive assistant attorney general and then as acting chief deputy (1997-2001).
He also worked as legislative director during this time, managing the Attorney General’s legislative activities. Bullock wrote the important ruling ensuring public access to streams and rivers as an Assistant Attorney General.
In his first run for Montana Attorney General, he was defeated in the Democratic primary in 2000 by Mike McGrath, who went on to be elected Attorney General that year and now serves as Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court.

Bullock worked as an adjunct lecturer at George Washington University Law School while practicing law with Steptoe & Johnson in Washington, D.C.

He returned to Montana in 2004, where he worked in private practice in Helena, representing individuals, consumer organizations, labor unions, peace officers, political subdivision associations, and small and large corporations.
On September 7, 2011, Bullock announced his intention to run for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Montana in 2012. Bullock established the Big Sky Values PAC in 2017, which generated approximately $1.8 million by the spring of 2019 to pay for travel throughout the United States. Bullock declared his candidacy for the 2020 presidential election on May 14, 2019.
