Stephen Amell, a Canadian actor, and his wife Cassandra Jean Amell have welcomed their second child. TMZ broke the story first, revealing that the couple’s second child, a girl, was born in Los Angeles in May. Her name is said to be Bowen Amell, although the celebrity couple has yet to disclose any specifics about the birth of their child.
The pair appeared to have had their kid via surrogacy, according to the publication, since Cassandra did not look pregnant when attending a music event in April 2022. The 41-year-old Arrow actor and Cassandra already have a daughter, Maverick Alexandra, whom they welcomed in 2013.

Stephen Amell and Cassandra Jean met in 2011 after the actor divorced his first wife, Carolyn Lawrence, in 2010, after three years of marriage. The couple secretly married in December 2012 and renewed their vows in May 2013. One month before his second wedding to America’s Next Top Model, Stephen disclosed the couple’s plans to travel during his break between seasons 1 and 2 of Arrow. In an April 2013 interview with Us Weekly, the actor stated:
“We’re combining worldwide marketing for the performance with a relaxing vacation.” Stockholm, London, Monte Carlo, Toronto, and China are among the destinations.”
Cassandra was expecting her first child with Amell in June 2013, only a few months after their wedding. In an interview with ET Canada, Amell stated:
“I’m delighted — no, I’m overjoyed — I’m ecstatic! I’m sure anxious energy will accompany it at some point, but only in a good manner.”
Later that month, at the MuchMusic Video Awards, Stephen evaded queries about the pregnancy, telling Us Magazine that he wouldn’t discuss the newborn kid until his wife was there.
In October 2013, the couple had their first child.
Stephen Amell and Cassandra collaborated on multiple occasions in the years that followed. She made her Arrow debut in 2018 and also directed her husband in the short film trilogy Speech & Debate, which he co-directed with their common friend Aisha Tyler.

The Code 8 actor was embroiled in scandal several times over his overlapping personal and professional life. He made headlines in June 2021 when it was alleged that he was “forcefully ejected” off an aircraft after an apparent confrontation with Cassandra. Stephen Amell acknowledged having an “argument” with his wife on Twitter at the time but claimed that he left the aircraft “quickly” after being asked to, rather than being removed against his will. He also admitted to letting his “emotions get the best of him.”
