Ryan was born on July 1, 1985, to Mary Peters, his mother, and Michael Peters, his father. Despite being born in Portland, Maine, United States, he and his family relocated, and he grew up in Wells, Maine, United States. He graduated from Wells Hugh School in 2004. Though he was interested in rapping since eighth grade, he did not pursue it as a career until after graduation.
To kick off his career, he also joined his first official band, The Frothy Four. He then transferred from the University of New Hampshire to Suffolk University to pursue a degree in English. Despite his hard work, he did not graduate because he was offered a record deal while still in university and chose the career of his dreams.
