Thomas’s ambition of playing professional football has come true
Thomas was a National League player for Boreham Wood before joining Huddersfield Town in January 2021. But his football path from non-league to the championship has not been easy, and he has fought hard, which has paid off tonight. He was told he wasn’t good enough while at Boreham Wood, which affected him hard since he was only ever excellent at football growing up.

When he moved out of his parent’s home, he had to grow up quickly and required some time to adjust to being in a professional setting, moving from three days a week to almost seven days a week, which was a significant transition for him. But becoming a professional football player has been a dream come true every day.
His outstanding performance earned him the EFL Championship award for the month of August 2021. He was called up to Rob Page’s senior Wales squad for the first time in September 2021 for their 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and he was included to the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad in Qatar in November 2022.
