Son Na-eun, an idol singer, has formally left Apink only days before the group’s 11th anniversary. Son, in addition to being a member of the girl group, has dabbled in acting, making her debut in 2012 with the Sageuk drama The Great Seer. As an actor, the artist has just been signed by YG Entertainment. Fans assume that the idol’s sudden exit from the group was due to her hectic acting commitments.
Son Na-eun confirmed her resignation from Apink In an Instagram post.
Son Nae-eun revealed her intention to depart the group in a touching post on Instagram on April 8, 2022. Following the tweet, IST Entertainment, the female group’s agency, verified the news. They said:
“Due to scheduling conflicts, Son Na-eun decided she could no longer participate in Apink events.” She has already discussed the matter with her group as well as the two entertainment firms, IST and YG Entertainment.”
The whole letter (translated) of the idol reads,
“I fretted a lot about how I should say this, and I’m still frightened as I type these words.” I’m leaving Apink, with whom I’ve been for the previous 11 years.”
The vocalist revealed how difficult it is for her to quit the band, which has been her home for the last 11 years.
“Because Apink is like family to me, with whom I have spent a long time with, I took this tough choice after much deliberation, and while it wasn’t an easy decision, I aim to become a Panda and cheer for Apink from now on.”
The Dinner Mate actress expressed her gratitude to her fellow cast members as well as the IST personnel.
She said, ”
“The members… Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Namjoo, Hayoung… the many people who have worked hard for Apink since the beginning, including the IST staff, and the fans, who are the most precious of all: there is no way to express all of my feelings through words as I look back on the times we’ve spent together until now and our memories.”
Son Na-eun concluded with a heartfelt pledge that brought everyone to tears.

In addition, the singer-actor was the only member who did not extend her contract with IST Entertainment, which sparked a lot of suspicions. Son Na-Eun sat out the promotional events for the girl group’s return in February after signing with YG Entertainment.
